Responsible Gambling
The Encore List is committed to promoting safe and responsible gambling practices. Online casinos should be a form of entertainment, not a source of financial stress or personal hardship. If gambling stops being fun, it is time to stop.
Indiana law requires all participants in online gambling to be 21 years of age or older. Licensed operators are required to verify your age and identity before you can deposit or play. If you are under 21, you should not access any casino sites linked from this page.
You Must Be 21+ to Gamble Online in Indiana
All casinos reviewed on The Encore List require age verification. Never gamble underage or allow minors to access gambling platforms.
Recognizing Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop gradually and may be difficult to recognize in yourself. If you identify with any of the following behaviors, consider reaching out for help:
- Spending more money on gambling than you can afford to lose
- Chasing losses by placing larger or more frequent bets
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling
- Feeling restless or irritable when trying to reduce or stop gambling
- Lying to family members or friends about how much you gamble
- Neglecting work, school, or personal responsibilities because of gambling
- Using gambling as a way to escape problems or relieve negative emotions
- Making repeated unsuccessful attempts to control or stop gambling
- Risking important relationships, job opportunities, or education because of gambling
If you recognized yourself in even one or two of these signs, it does not necessarily mean you have a gambling disorder — but it is worth taking seriously. The organizations listed below offer free, confidential help and can assess your situation without judgment.

Tips for Gambling Responsibly
- Set a budget before you play — Decide how much you can afford to lose before opening any casino site. When that budget is spent, stop. Do not chase losses.
- Set time limits — Use the session timer or reality check features offered by most licensed casinos to track how long you have been playing.
- Never gamble with borrowed money — Only use funds you have allocated specifically for entertainment. Never take out loans, use credit cards, or borrow from others to gamble.
- Do not gamble while impaired — Avoid gambling when under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or strong emotions like anger or depression. Impaired judgment leads to poor decisions.
- Take regular breaks — Step away from the screen frequently. If you have been playing for more than an hour, close the app and do something else.
- Understand the odds — Every casino game has a house edge. Over time, the casino will always have a mathematical advantage. Treat gambling as entertainment, not income.
- Use responsible gambling tools — Licensed casinos offer deposit limits, loss limits, wager limits, session timers, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion options. Use them proactively, not just reactively.
Self-Exclusion in Indiana
Indiana offers a voluntary self-exclusion program through the Indiana Gaming Commission. By enrolling, you can ban yourself from all licensed gaming facilities and online platforms in the state for a chosen period. The process is confidential and legally enforceable.
- Self-exclusion periods: 1 year, 5 years, or lifetime
- Covers all Indiana-licensed casinos, racinos, and sports betting platforms
- Enrollment is handled through the Indiana Gaming Commission
- Violating your self-exclusion may result in trespassing charges and forfeiture of winnings
To enroll, visit the Indiana Gaming Commission website or call the NCPG helpline at 1-800-522-4700 for guidance.
Our Commitment
The Encore List takes responsible gambling seriously. We only recommend casinos that provide robust responsible gambling tools, including deposit limits, self-exclusion options, and reality check reminders. If a casino does not offer adequate player protection, it does not make our list — regardless of its bonuses, game selection, or other features.
If you believe gambling is negatively affecting your life or the life of someone you care about, please reach out to any of the organizations listed above. Help is free, confidential, and available right now.
